Introducing Joe DeCanto
In my 44 years playing guitar, if I have learned anything, I have learned that you can learn something new on your guitar every day, and you will never learn it all. I am like most musicians, an amalgamation of the styles and great players I’ve listened to for so many years. Influenced by too many guitar players to mention, I am most humbled by the dedicated players out there, that I have had the pleasure of Jamming with down through the years. Playing the Colorado Ski areas and various Clubs for over 40 years taught me that it is what you are playing and who you are playing it for that counts. In today’s world of a very diversified listening audience, I am most impressed, with the number of people moving away from the usual pop music machine and searching out the musician’s music. Having married my high school sweet heart in 1970 I have been one of the luckiest men on the planet to have a great wife and family that supports what I do. The music I write is mostly about this journey with family and friends, and the world around me. About eight years ago I was introduced to Mark VanVleet. Working in a couple of cover bands together over a few years I realized that his rock bottom bass playing and great vocals had a style of their own just waiting to be heard. When I first mentioned to Mark about putting together a band doing mostly all original music, and tweaking the rest to suite our individual styles, he was totally up for it. Knowing that he had a solid support system from his great wife Brenda and his family, I was half the way there. The root of every good band is not the front people, but the talent and dedication of the bass player and drummer. I am fortunate to be surrounded by both. The next step was finding more than a drummer; we needed a percussionist that could march to his own groove. First hearing Jason Dieter when he was in high school, you could immediately tell this was going to be a guy to watch. When we first got on the hunt for a drummer and found out that Jason had returned to the area after college we were very excited about that first audition. He proved us right. With feet like a freight train, the syncopation of a man possessed with beats and time signatures, we now had it all going on, we just needed to package it. It is my distinct pleasure to introduce you to the World of XsintriX.Give us a listen when you have a chance, ...IF IT ROCKS, LET IT ROLL...
