Introducing Jason "Dieter"

Jason Dieter

I started playing the drums at age 11, in the 5th grade. I was in the school band all the way through my high school years. I started off on a black drum kit that my dad bought for me. It had no name brands, cymbals, or hardware. I clicked on the rims until I got my first cymbals out of the J.C. Penny catalog. My second kit was a used 5-piece Tama Swingstar. I only had that set for a couple years in high school, while playing in a local bar “cover” band.

In my junior year of high school (1999), I met Billy “Thunder” Mason, drummer for “Tim McGraw”. I bought my 3rd and current kit from him. It started as a 7-piece “Pearl” Session Series. I have since then added roto toms, more cymbals, and switched from having 2 separate bass drums to having 1 single bass with a double pedal.

Around May of 2006, after moving back to Kentland, I got a call from Mark Van Vleet, who I have jammed with a few times in the past years. He and Joe DeCanto were starting a band and wanted to know if I’d be interested. I took the offer and soon after XsintriX was born. Being in this band gives me a wide range to play around in. I have enjoyed writing every drum track on this album and hope to continue on with more in the future.

...IF IT ROCKS, LET IT ROLL...
